The extent of coverage mainly depends on the social status of an individual in the societies such as celebrities, influential people and bomb and other capital crimes suspects.

Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart was sentenced to serve for five months in a federal prison as well as serve a house arrest for the same period. Martha was convicted of insider trading when she failed to provide full disclosure about her stocks a time when her stocks tumbled. Martha was sent to a minimum security prison in Alderson Virginia which is a prison facility that is popularly known for having no perimeter fence. This prison facility has a population of around one thousand prisoners and most prisoners in this facility are those convicted of lesser crimes in the society.

Gen Manuel Noriega

Gen Manuel Noriega is the former Panama dictator who was convicted for drug trafficking and money laundering and was sentenced to twenty years in prison by a Miami judge. His trial was held in Miami Florida at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida where the court found him guilty of eight counts of drug trafficking, racketeering and money laundering. He was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Miami which is a low to medium security facility housing male inmates. The prison population of this facility was 1,205 as at 2002 and is located in Miami-Dade County ("Supermax prison, the Alcatraz of the Rockies).

Timothy James McVeigh

He was a former member of the US army infamous for the Oklahoma bombings. This attack led to the death of over 168 individuals and injured an estimated 450 people. This is considered as the deadliest terrorism act on US soil. He was convicted of 11 federal offences and sentenced to death by execution at the Terre Haute Federal Prison, Terre Haute, Indiana which is a federal prison for adult males and is comprised of two institutions under it that are the Federal Correctional Institution, Terre Haute; and United States Penitentiary, Terre Haute (Special Confinement Unit Opens at USP Terre Haute Federal Bureau of Prisons). It is the only prison facility that houses federal death penalty recipients in the US.

Michael Milken

Michael Milken was sentenced to serve for a period of 22 months in prison at minimum security work camp in Pleasanton California for fraud and other crimes. Milken was indicted for 98 counts of racketeering, securities fraud and insider trading after which he pleaded guilty to six counts of charges. Milken's sentence had previously been 10 years in prison but the count was later reduced to less than two years in jail. The Federal Correctional Insittution in Pleasanton is a minimum security prison in San Francisco Bay area that houses less serious crime offenders.

Terry Nichols

He is an American bomber and mass murderer who was also a member of the US army. He was charged of having conspired with McVeigh in planning and executing the Oklahoma bombing hence convicted of conspiracy and the use of weapons of mass destruction. The convictions also include eight counts of involuntary murder and involuntary manslaughter. He was therefore sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole and was incarcerated at the ADX Florence which is a super maximum security prison near Florence Colorado. According to Bosworth, The United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) is a supermax prison facility that houses male prisoners and houses prisoners' deemed to pose the greatest threat to the society(Bosworth,2002). The prisoners in this facility are kept under solitary confinement and are kept under this state for over 23 hours depending on their records.
